They needed a way to grant edit rights across an entire environment instantly, without relying on manual updates or risking overlooked apps and flows. The goal was simple: ensure every asset had the right owners at the right time, with zero administrative bottlenecks.

The Solution

Automating Ownership Across the Entire Environment

IncWorx created a “Take Ownership” solution, built using both Power Automate and Power Apps, to eliminate the manual effort of assigning ownership. The process starts when a user enters an environment ID. From there, the automated flow retrieves the user’s details, identifies every Power Automate flow in that environment, and updates each one to include the user as an owner.

The system then scans all Power Apps in the same environment and checks existing permissions. If the user isn’t already listed as an owner, the tool automatically grants them editing rights. This delivers a fully automated, end‑to‑end access management process that ensures complete coverage, consistent ownership, and zero administrative overhead.

This approach allowed the client to replace manual updates with a fully automated, scalable ownership process. It reduced errors, eliminated administrative overhead, and kept every asset aligned with organizational needs.
