Delve In: Everything You Need to Know About Microsoft Delve

Facilitating optimal productivity is a crucial element of any successful business. One of the best ways to do so is with your company’s project management software. For those unaware, Microsoft Delve provides a notable amount of utility for businesses across a broad range of industries. But, not everyone understands how it can benefit them.

Not sure where to start? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about using Microsoft Delve to take your company’s productivity to the next level.

What is Microsoft Delve?

This program can be thought of as a central tool that uses cloud-based technology to facilitate collaboration. In fact, many of its features make it as easy as possible to share information and communicate with your colleagues.

Delve is integrated into Microsoft 365 and aims to make your experience with the platform more fluid and efficient.

Let’s explore a few of its most notable attributes that you should keep in mind.

Mobile Access

Many times, maintaining optimum efficiency means working from home or from locations you normally wouldn’t. In some cases, it isn’t practical to carry around your laptop in order to perform tasks. Fortunately, Delve provides users with access to the platform through mobile apps. This will allow you to both access and manage work-related information while you’re traveling, commuting, etc. In fact, if all you need to do is manage the productivity of your employees, you’re able to accomplish this obligation from the Delve mobile app.

Security

As you may expect, having such a large amount of sensitive information in one place is a proverbial goldmine for cybercriminals and those who have ill intentions.

Having this information compromised can result in a significant loss of productivity through downtime. In extreme scenarios, it could also drastically impact your company‘s ability to perform in your industry, such as if important trade secrets were leaked to your competitors.

So, Delve incorporates additional layers of security on top of standard encryption and conventional practices that most online platforms utilize.

Users are only able to access documents and information if they have been granted permission to do so. As long as your permissions are in order, you’re unlikely to encounter any issues.

Privacy

Using a platform that has a sufficient level of privacy is just as important as using one that is properly secured. Some potential users may be deterred from using Delve due to the ease with which they can find their colleagues’ profiles, assignments, relevant documents, etc. But, information is only visible if you choose for it to be, similar to how nobody can access documents without permission. If you prefer, only certain activities of yours will be made visible to other users and collaborators, allowing you to maintain a sufficient level of privacy. This is particularly useful for those who don’t feel comfortable displaying who they’re working with or what they’re working on.

Ease of Collaboration

Perhaps the most notable attribute of Microsoft Delve is how conducive it is for collaboration. It essentially serves as a hub for documents and information that individuals within a company are able to use to access what they need to. Delve serves to be an ideal tool for maintaining productivity while simultaneously keeping contributions as organized as possible. Users are seamlessly able to access, edit, and share information with others on the platform provided that they have the permission to do so. Users are also able to take advantage of a feature known as ‘Boards’ to create an arrangement of documents related to a project they are currently working on. As a result, everyone involved will have a centralized location to access the information they need.

Individual Profiles

Delve will provide users with the opportunity to create their own professional profiles. You will be able to add information like photos, relevant skills, and past projects that you’ve worked on. Colleagues within your organization will be able to use this criterion to find you through Delve’s integrated search feature. Conversely, you can also use the search feature yourself to find relevant individuals on the platform. Additionally, Microsoft Delve provides users with content that’s relevant to both their role, skills, and projects they’re currently working on. For example, the application may display an engineering project and its team members to someone who frequently works on projects of the same type.

Email Access

For further convenience, Delve allows email integration for users so that you can quickly manage your messages and notifications. This is particularly useful when colleagues email you documents. Since Delve displays information relevant to you as well as other users, it will provide you with access to any file that you’ve recently received. Not only will this allow you to save a notable amount of time, but you’ll also keep your documents far more organized. For larger projects, this is an invaluable attribute that you can take advantage of.

Understanding what Microsoft Delve Provides Can Seem Difficult

But it doesn’t have to be.

With the above information about the utility of Microsoft Delve in mind, you’ll be well on your way toward taking full advantage of the application while using it for your company.
